Re. the Jezebel article and the contempt commenters had for Donna, I hadn’t even thought about what it actually, really means that almost all of them compared her unfavourably to Amy, rather than, say, CJ.
Apparently in the end the value of these women is in how worthy they are of Josh Lyman’s dick.
A+ feministing there.
It aired at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2000. This year House of Cards was all the rage.
I decided to talk a little about my role models. I’ll admit, my choices are a little varied. They range from fellow bloggers to First Lady, from actress to activists, from fictional to fashionista….
My blog post for this week is all about the ladies I look up to. Check out my list of role models and maybe let me know who would make yours!
So, a couple of days ago, the feminist website Jezebel posted a request for help finding the coat that Donna wears in “The Cold”. Making this a prime example of ‘for god’s sake, don’t read the comments’, responses to the post largely had nothing to do with Donna’s attire and everything to do with how weak and pathetic she is. Rather than following through on my first inclination to stomp down the street with a large stick and indiscriminately hit things with it, I decided to channel my anger into this ridiculously long post on why Donna Moss is a feminist angel.
If you don’t like Donna Moss and think she is a weak woman there is a 100% chance I think you’re a dumbass and will never talk to you again.
I’d add that you also probably suck at both feminism and critical engagement with the media you’re consuming xoxo

The Sam/Josh parallel in Transition comes at the expense of any kind of character development that Sam has. I love parallels but in my opinion, that one is kind of a problem. He’s in exactly the same place as he was in the flashbacks in In The Shadow of Two Gunmen. Plus, in the meantime he had come to really love public service over private sector work. Jed even tells him he’s going to be president one day. And yet, I’m supposed to believe that he took a private sector job again instead of going back to the White House because of the paycheck and the weather.
